Grand Old Duke of York

This distinguished gentleman leads an army up and hill and down again for no apparent reason and the song somewhat pokes fun at the obvious fact of being up when you're up and down when you're down and in the middle when you're neither. It is fun to do as a march going somewhere – for example from the school yard back into the classroom or vice versa. Alternatively, you can just march around the classroom, following different “dukes”. It's very energetic, so get ready for a work out!
