Lullabies

This is a collection of nursery rhymes which are gentle and lilting. Some are meant as lullabies, like Rock-a-Bye Baby or Twinkle Twinkle Little Star but others have been arranged in such a way that they lend themselves to being sung softly like There Was an Old Woman Tossed Up in a Basket or Monday's Child. These type of songs are ideal for singing at the end of a lesson to “wind down” or at a juncture in the lesson when the children are craving something calmer and quieter. There are some real classics in this bundle too, such as Lavender's Blue and Row Row Row Your Boat. Also included are a clapping game song (Rain Rain Go Away) and one where you need a partner to do the actions (See Saw Margery Daw). Another option is to sing these songs to the children as they work on some drawing. It helps them to concentrate and they are internalising the melodies and words passively as they listen.
