Songs from A Change In The Year

These songs were all originally published in a book of the same title, edited by Christoph Jaffke in cooperation with the Pädagogische Forschungsstelle Stuttgart in 1994. The music and words are all original composition by Peter Oram except where indicated and texts are taken from famous British poets. To quote from Peter Oram's introduction to the book: “The young child does not need to be talked down to by over-indulgence in sentimentality or silliness; his or her enormous powers of imagination can respond deeply to simple but genuine poetry. Thus many of the texts are by some of our finest poets ... In remaining texts I have humbly attempted to approach a like simplicity of poetic expression.” The themes of the songs revolve around the seasons and the expressions of such in nature.
