Hark, Hark! The Dogs Do Bark

Hark, Hark! The Dogs Do Bark

Hark, Hark, the Dogs Do Bark. “Hark” is an old English word meaning “listen”. One of the theories regarding its origin is that it refers to King James I (the one in the velvet gown) and down at heel Scottish aristocrats when he united the English and Scottish crowns in 1603. This rhyme is ideal as a marching or follow-the-leader game in classes 2, 3 or 4.
