Hickety Pickety, My Black Hen

This song combines the delight of singing very English sounding nonsense words with practising  arithmetic! A mother hen is very proud of the 10 eggs she has laid and in multiples of two, she tells us  what colours they have. This is a very fun way to have the children practice the properties of the  number 10 and also, if you show the numbers with your fingers while you do it, it helps the children  focus on their dexterity. Quite the challenge!
